The Austrian visiting team, arranged by the Austrian government's accelerator GIN (Global Incubator Network) through the Austrian Trade Representative Office, visited the New Taipei Co-Creation Space for exchanges. Austrian Trade Representative Director Hermann Ortner expressed his gratitude to the New Taipei City Government and was impressed by the young and innovative atmosphere of the New Taipei Co-Creation Space. New Taipei City Youth Bureau Director Qiu Zhao-Mei emphasized that the bureau highly values international exchanges in nurturing tech entrepreneurs, aiming to cultivate Taiwanese entrepreneurs' communication and business connection capabilities with international partners. She also stated that New Taipei City, being the city with the largest population and the most SMEs in Taiwan, encourages Austrian entrepreneurs to establish themselves in New Taipei.
The New Taipei City Youth Bureau is dedicated to promoting tech entrepreneurship, with eight entrepreneurial bases providing diverse resources, including office space at below-market prices, consulting services from entrepreneurial mentors in various fields, entrepreneurial courses, and free exhibition opportunities, giving outstanding entrepreneurs more support.
The Youth Bureau actively promotes international exchanges, collaborating with global startup accelerators and institutions to help local entrepreneurs expand their international horizons. This includes the recently concluded "2024 New Taipei Demo Day," which invited startups and investors from various countries, and the participation of three teams from the New Taipei Co-Creation Space in InnovFest in Singapore, one of East Asia's largest startup exhibitions, in May this year, showcasing international exchanges in tangible form.
Qiu Zhao-Mei stated, "The Austrian startup teams visiting this time are very mature, showcasing innovative breakthroughs and practical experience in the European market. New Taipei had teams from the Co-Creation Space, Tucheng Green Innovation Base, and Pao Gao Digital Base participating, exchanging product and technology content and receiving professional advice and feedback. Such cross-border exchanges not only enhance local entrepreneurs' professional capabilities but also aid them in entering the international market."
New Taipei is not only a development base for startups but also highly suitable for foreign startups to establish themselves. Qiu mentioned during the exchange that New Taipei has many SMEs, traditional industries, and factories. Foreign startup teams choosing to develop in New Taipei can leverage the mature supply chain and manufacturing advantages here and quickly enter the Taiwan market through the resources and entrepreneurial bases provided by the Youth Bureau, using it as a springboard to venture into other Asian countries. She emphasized that internationalization is part of New Taipei City's entrepreneurial ecosystem, and the city government will continue to provide more support to foreign startups, promoting cross-border cooperation and market expansion.
